It's about time that a cool creative WEBINAR is being launched!
What's good in NYC is proud to introduce you to
and if you haven't heard about it before, starting right now!!
Meet Guilherme Cunha, co-founder of Everything is Yellow.
NYC : Hi Guil, please tell us about "Everything is Yellow.com". What's good about Yellow?
EIY : Everything is Yellow and the Yellow brand, is about standing out and creativity. Our website brings industry leaders to the creative community via "Webinars" - educational seminars that we produce online. It's a place where creative professionals come together, but it's not a social networking site. It's about the creative work we all are doing and our quest to become better in our field(s).
NYC : Who is the main target group, and why?
EIY : Anyone who works in a creative profession. Our webinar series is March 16th-20th is geared mostly toward photographers and illustrators. Yet throughout 2009 we're hitting all industries. **If you're personally are facing any particular challenges in your career, let us know! We're here to help. We actually work for you and you didn't even know it! And tell us who you want to hear from and we'll make it happen.
NYC : What inspired you to create Everything is Yellow.com? How long has the "webinar" concept been in the making?
EIY : The Yellow brand has been in the creative world for years now. Yellow-Paint was the first publication that we released. Over the last year, we had been holding private round table discussions with industry leaders, and Everything is Yellow become our way to bring their wisdom to the masses. We're friends with and collaborate with some of the best creatives around and yet, some don't get the SHINE they deserve. Our fundamental philosophy is that your talents can only take you as far as your marketing plan says so. We challenging everyone to stomp out any apprehension regarding marketing and distribution. It has to be a key part of your whole career. I realize that making these plans is no small feat- but we're up to helping everyone meet these challenges.
NYC : Besides you, who else is behind Everything is Yellow? And how do you operate?
EIY : Our CEO, Matthew G. Campbell, is THE MAN; he's a true visionary who makes things happen. Our office is located in NoHo; it's a space where we work with a wide range of creatives who make the Yellow office a vibrant and inspiring place to call home. Our goal is to push the Yellow brand to the next level and take our audience of creative professionals along for the ride. Our goal is under promise and over deliver.
NYC : Your target audience isn't restricted to NYC or even the United States, correct?
EIY : Exactly! That is the beauty of EIY. You can be in Seattle, Austin, or Australia. IT DOESN'T MATTER. We're bringing the industry leaders to creatives right at home. So, instead of streaming HULU on their computer they can log into the webinar series in the Pajama's if they wanted to.
NYC : What advice do you give to creatives to help them build their careers?
Guil : Invest in yourself; you will yield your greatest return. In the business world, good CEOs and leading business people set aside 10% of their income toward bettering themselves through continuing education, seminars, conferences, books and the like. The creative community should set the same goal of self-investment. So, if not Everything is Yellow, then cool.. take a course somewhere. DO SOMETHING. If anyone finds a place that provides better speakers and more affordable than Everything is Yellow, then..shoot.. send me an e-mail. I'll take the course with you!
NYC : Anything else you want to shout out on WHAT'S GOOD IN NYC?
Guil: Since I love keeping tabs on all things creative and yellow, I had to check out the latest gathering of Adhesive NYC (Sticking Creative together) http://adhesivenyc.com
My good friend, Kareem Black, who is actually a speaker on creating a personal brand, invited me to the event. I had the honor of meeting Wini and Brian who co-founded it with Shabnam. Amazing group. Their hearts bleed Yellow. I also hear rumors that House Retouching in TriBeCa is having a website release party soon. The whole Yellow team is What's good in NYC! Cassie, Sammy and Prentice. They bleed yellow too! Trustart.org premiered during the TED conferences recently. Seth Aylmer is the leading man and it's a wonderful project. Ryan Brown and Jen Novak work along side Seth on Fame Game. Super cool crew- Check out both their sites. Lastly, if you haven't been to a SLIDELUCK POTSHOW your'e buggin' out. Photos, food and friends, enough said! Casey Kelbaugh and Alys Kenny are the master minds.
